Compass Environmental Consultancy is a dynamic, family-run business specialising in managing environmental risk.

We work with a diverse range of clients, including insurers, retailers, private businesses, and environmental regulators to deliver complex and interesting environmental projects.  In addition, we provide training and consultancy services to help businesses protect the environment.

Position Overview

Due to continued expansion we are seeking an Senior Environmental Consultant to join our growing team. You will be responsible for planning, executing and overseeing a variety of environmental projects - taking the lead on these from start to completion or delegating to other team members when required.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in environmental science, project management and has first-hand experience in implementing effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Successfully manage multiple environmental projects simultaneously, delivering effective solutions for our clients.

  • Manage stakeholders associated with each project - i.e. contractors, homeowners etc.

  • Develop and manage project plans - including resource and budget management.

  • Provide practical assistance on site including an amount of physical work.

  • Prepare written reports highlighting key stages of each project.

  • Client facing role.


    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Geography, Geology or a related field.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Minimum 3 years experience in environmental project management, with a track record of successful project delivery - particularly in the field of domestic oil spill claims.

  • Practical skills required - must enjoy the outdoors and getting stuck in!

  • Effective communication abilities, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing project requirements.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and good working knowledge of relevant software tools.

  • Full UK Driving License, confident driver.
